STATESVILLE, N.C. - Bruce William Moody left this earth life on Sunday, April 24, 2016. It was unexpected and none of us were ready for him to go.

He was born September 21, 1948, to Lelia and William Moody and raised on the farm in Turner. He graduated from Leavitt Intitute, served in the National Guard, raised his son in Yarmouth and over the last several years settled in North Carolina. He was a recent resident of Love Valley, N.C. and enjoyed the laid-back lifestyle there.

He held many sales and management positions in the transportation industry. Then, at a time when most people would retire, he pursued a new career as a longhaul trucker and proceeded to see and enjoy much of the country on his routes. He was in his truck working at the time of his death.

Bruce was kind and generous. He will be greatly missed by the many people whose paths he crossed, as well as by his family and loved ones.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lara Moody, and the two grandsons he adored, Alexander and Andrew Moody, all of Nashua, N.H.; as well as his sisters, Donna Legere and her husband, Fred, of Statesville, N.C., Jane Fortin and her husband, Steve, of Turner, and Janet Moody and her partner, Laura, of Portland, Ore.; and his mother, Lee Moody, who now resides in Lewiston.

FUNERAL NOTICE
MOODY - Bruce W., of Love Valley, N.C., died Sunday, April 24, 2016. A private burial service will be held by his immediate family. At his request, there will be no other service. Interment will be in the family plot at Turner Village Cemetery.
