Lawrence C. "Larry" Day, 72, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at home after a courageous 8 month battle with cancer.

Larry was born on May 8, 1943 to Lawrence F. and Vayden D. (Nance) Day. He attended St. Theresa Grade School and Rex Mundi High School. Larry joined the United States Air Force in the summer of 1962. He met his future wife while stationed in Madison, WI. Larry and Karen (Morgan) were married July 29, 1967. Larry worked at Whirlpool for 43 years. Larry and Karen took a 2 week trip of a lifetime to the Island of Okinawa. Their son was stationed there at the time. They also made numerous trips to Wisconsin and Florida to visit relatives. After retiring, Larry could be seen riding his bike the length of the bike trail or walking the neighborhood daily.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Me'chele Lynn (1975) and an older brother, Darrell (1959).

Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, daughters, brother, I and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 9, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Dr, Evansville, IN 47711, with Father Ted Tempel celebrating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
