Robert T. Shaffer, 87, of Kittanning died Monday, May 2, 2016 in Country Manor Personal Care Home. He was born Jan. 10, 1929 in Kittanning to the late Walter and Daisy (Mechling) Shaffer. He was a lifelong resident of Kittanning. Bob graduated in 1947 from Kittanning High School, he, then served in the U.S. Navy, after high school. He retired, after many years, from the Middle Department Inspection Agency, Inc. as a chief electrical inspector. He was a loving care person for his mother, until she died. Bob loved to go to his camp in Clarion County, that he built. He enjoyed going to Mc- Donald’s for breakfast with his breakfast buddies. Mr. Shaffer is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Margaret Freudenberger; his brothers, Henry and James Baney; and one nephew, Richard Baney. He is survived by his brother, George F. Shaffer of Morgantown, W. Va.; his niece, Susan Hyland of Hyannis Port, Mass.; and his nephews, George B. Shaffer of Morgantown and Thomas J. Shaffer of Margate, Fla. Private viewing and services will be held at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, Inc., 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the Kittanning Cemetery
