Glen Harvey Martin, age 85 years of Lincoln, died May 5, 2016. Glen was born on August 16, 1930, in Wolbach, Nebraska, to Clarence and Edna (Sower) Martin. Glen graduated from Wolbach High School and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953.

After his service, Glen married Ruth Henrikus on July 31, 1955 and then worked for Cushman Motors for 38 years. He retired in 1995, enjoying sports, family, traveling and worked for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Event Staff of which he was honored recently for 50 years of service. Glen was a 50+ member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and lifetime member of VFW 131.

Glen is survived by his wife, Ruth of 60 years; Sons, Garry (Becky), Alan (Helen), Jerome and Bryan (Heather) and daughters; Pamela (Dennis) Byerly, Jacquelyn (Dean) Leland, and Anastasia (Allan) Edgington; 8 grandchildren, Lynn (Tim) Bogatz, Michelle Byerly, Brandie (Casey) Lovato, Derek Leland, Ava Martin, Ella Martin, Andrew Edgington and Ariel Edgington; 4 great grandchildren, Victoria and Timothy Bogatz, JohnPaul and Maximillian Lovato; one sister, Leatha Morton.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee Martin; sister, Shirley Morton; and grandson, Matthew Byerly.

Graveside with Military Honors at 9:30 am on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Lincoln Memorial Park.

Memorial Service at 11 am on Monday, May 9 at St Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneer Blvd, Lincoln.

Visitation on Sunday from 12 noon to 8 pm at Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St, Lincoln. The family will be present from 5 pm to 7 pm.
