Summary:Rev. John Fort, pastor of the M. E.(Methodist Episcopal) Church at Blackwoodtown, died suddenly on Saturday last(presumably a reference to August 7, 1875). After working a short time in his garden he went into the house, complained of an oppressed feeling at the breast, sat down in a chair, and almost instantly expired. Apoplexy was the probable cause of death. Mr. Fort was a brother of the late Gov. George F. Fort, and of Andrew H. Fort, of Pemberton. The late Dr. William S. Fort, U. S. Navy, was his oldest son. His age was 50 years. The funeral takes place this(Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist Church, Pemberton.
