Adolph Fedder of Pine City passed away at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 85.

Adolph August Fedder was born on Feb. 9, 1931 to John and Tine (Horn) Fedder in Pokegama Township.

He graduated from Pine City High School in 1949. At just 18 years old he drove school bus. In 1952, Adolph and Bernice were engaged prior to his joining the Army. He was a Medic stationed in Japan during the Korean War. In 1954, upon his return from the armed service, he and Bernice were married. Together they farmed northwest of Pine City. Adolph also worked at Donovan’s before beginning his career in 1959 with Land O’ Lakes driving bulk truck. On his milk route, he loved visiting with all the farmers and enjoyed the special treats they shared with him. He retired in October of 1993 after 34 years. He took one year off and then started driving school bus for 10 years in Pine City.

Adolph was a member of the Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51 and served as adjutant for two terms and he was also a member of Novak-Milliren VFW Post #4258.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved getting together every Thursday to play cards with his brothers and meeting his sister at the casino. McDonalds was a favorite spot for coffee and visiting. Everywhere Adolph went he always seemed to know someone and he always remembered everyone’s birthday, just like his mom.

Adolph is survived by his children: Jeff Fedder, Judy (Bill) Patzoldt, Lori (Craig) Buck, and Brad Fedder, all of Pine City; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Marianne Klande, Henry Fedder and his wife Helen, Herb Fedder and his wife Florence, all of Pine City, and Elsie France and her husband Bud of Finlayson; many other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Tine Fedder, wife Bernice Fedder, sister Katy Brackenbury, brother John Fedder and great-granddaughter Meredith Ausmus.

Pastor Glen Kleppe officiated at a memorial service for Adolph on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City. The music was provided by soloist Celia Ausmus, Adolph’s great-granddaughter, and accompanist Katy Ovick.

Honorary casket bearers included Gina Ausmus, B.J. Patzoldt, Quent Patzoldt, Derek Buck, Sasha Stone, Megan Holen and Nick Fedder.

The interment took place in Birchwood Cemetery, Pine City. Military Honors were provided by Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51, Novak-Milliren VFW Post #4258 and the Minnesota National Guard.
