He was born January 1, 1924, in Argyle, Missouri the son of the late Joseph Ferdinand and Johanna Louise (Renneke) Bure.
Anton served with the United States Army from May 16, 1946, with the C.O.D. 31st Infantry, 8th Division to October 8, 1947 when he was honorably discharge as a Corporal.
He was united in marriage on November 28, 1953, in Freeburg, Missouri to Rita Marie Boehmer who survives at the home.
Anton spent his life as a farmer in Osage County. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, American Legion Post 544, and the Westphalia Senior Citizens Club. Curly enjoyed hunting and fishing, fixing fences, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Bure, Westphalia; a daughter, Diane (Tom) Scheppers, Wardsville; a son, Bill Bure, Westphalia; and three grandchildren, Karen (Brandon) Simpson; Gabriel Bure; and Elizabeth Bure.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rose Bure, Hermina "Minnie" Poposky, Gertrude Blanks; and five brothers, Leo, Joseph, Herbert, Steve, and Fred Bure.
Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.
