SHOOTING SCRAPE IN PIERCE COUNTY.
Reports of a shooting scrape in Pierce county were received in Waycross late yesterday. A man by the name of Otis Robertson was killed, according to the report, by a young man named Altman.
It seems that Altman and Robertson were quarreling about a fight or the refusal of one of them to fight when Robertson told Altman he was not game to shoot him, offering at the time a pistol. Altman is reported as taking the pistol and firing it in the air. This angered Robertson who dared Altman to shoot him, threatening to beat him at the same time. The report states that Altman fired when Robertson advanced. He then went into Blackshear and surrendered.
Altman's father was killed in a free-for-all fight in Blackshear about eight years ago, according to the information reaching Waycross Robertson was a well known farmer in Pierce county and had a farm two miles east of that place.
