Funeral services for Bill T. Daniel will be held on Friday, May 6th 2016, 2:00 PM at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach and friend passed away unexpectedly on May 1st, 2016.

Bill was born on February 19th, 1950, to Roscoe T. and Flora (Hubbard) Daniel in Roswell, NM.

His parents preceded him in death as well as his sister, Tudy Barnett.

Bill served six years in the National Guard and he pursued a career in carpentry for over 47 years. During that time, he earned his General Contractor's License, in 1985. He worked many years for Featherstone Development Corporation and thought very highly of the Featherstone family.

Surviving Bill is his childhood sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Judy. Additional survivors are his three children and their spouses whom he loved as much as his own children. He dearly loved and was so proud of each and every one of his children: daughter, Debbie Daniel and Dusty Livingston; daughter, Gwen Woody and husband, Clay; son, William (Bubba) Daniel and wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his 7 wonderful grandkids whom he loved dearly and saw almost every day: Ashley Sommerville, Cole, Blake, Brittany, and Savana Daniel, Jacob and Joshua Woody. Bill is also survived by two brothers of Roswell: Charlie Daniel and wife Nellie, Rodger Daniel; and one sister, Janie Lockaby and husband, Fred of Abilene, TX. Other survivors that he loved dearly are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as Oren and Nevan Livingston.

The pallbearers will be ED Pharis, Bac Carswell, John Brown, Daniel Martinez, Erik Martinez, Kyle Barnett, Donald Tyler, and Chuck Wagner.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandkids, Jim Pharis, and Tres Featherstone.

Bill enjoyed many wonderful hunting, fishing, and camping trips with his family. However, his favorite past-time was coaching girls' softball for his daughters and granddaughters' teams for over 20 years. Several years ago he was highly honored when the Softball League President asked him to throw out the first pitch for opening day.

When he was not coaching he could be found on the sidelines watching any sport his grandkids were playing. This included countless hours of watching softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and cross country.

Many have said he was a colorful character, larger than life, a little hard-headed, but always loving, and if he liked you, he loved to give you a hard time about everything. His family and friends were his whole life, they were his number one priority and his pride and joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love. Goodbye Coach Bill, until we meet again.

Immediately following the services burial will be held at the Veterans Cemetery. After that a potluck dinner will be held at the Trinity House of Praise Church on the corner of Sunset and Albuquerque St, Roswell NM.

Visitation will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral home on Thursday May 5th, 2016, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

For those who can attend his services please feel free to wear a team sports jersey or parent t-shirt, or just T-shirt and jeans. He was just that kind of a guy and would be very pleased. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you will share your special memory of Bill, either at the services or at the pot luck or in a card.

Our hearts are oh, so heavy
Our minds deny it's true
You left… we weren't prepared
so part of us left too
A steady, loving husband
A strong, devoted dad
A happy, talented brother
And a cheerful comrade
You taught us and guided us
Held and loved us too.
You showed what it meant
to be a friend.
That's why we needed you
We will learn to live without you
We will surely be okay
We know you're with us everywhere
We'll take it day by day
We would have kept you with us
If all it took was love
Now you're with our Lord in Heaven
Looking down from above.
