NORTHPORT Annette K. Norris, age 78, of Northport, died Dec. 9, 2009, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Lyles, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Norris; her daughter, Deborah Montgomery; her brothers, Bill and Clay T. Kuykendall; her twin sister, Jeanette Gurganus; and her parents, Freeman and Minnie Kuykendall.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Norris and son-in-law Don Woodruff; her son-in-law, Roger Montgomery; her sister, Maurine Oswalt; her brother, Granville Kuykendall and wife Mary John; her sister-in-law, Dot Kuykendall; her grandchildren, Ashley Morris (Chad), Nicole Mitchell (Jamie), and Clay Montgomery; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Holden Morris and Lane Montgomery.

She retired from the Northport Police Department after 17 years as a dispatcher. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with the joys of her life, her three great-grandsons. She was the best "Nanny" anyone could ever have. She will be truly missed, especially by her loving dog Maggie.

Pallbearers will be Clay Montgomery, Jamie Mitchell, Chad Morris, Jeff Montgomery, David Weir, and David Kemp.

Honorary pallbearers are Northport Police Department, friends of Candlewood, Jennifer Taylor, Shirley Montgomery, Betty Davis, Chris and Laura Sanders, Marc Hamner, Laurine Hughes, Gladys Farley, Dr. Malika Aryanpure and staff of Mitt Lary Family Practice, Dr. Bob Grubbs and staff, Dr. Cornelius Sullivan and staff, and Dr. Del Shofner and staff.
