Shirley Erline (Sharlie Parker) Appling, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, October 9, 2015. Mrs. Appling was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church where she served in the Ladies of Charity, the Legion of Mary, and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Appling; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Reese; one sister, Pati Klein; and one brother, Thomas J. Meade, Jr. She is survived by her son, Bill Appling of Mobile, AL. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the Little Flower School Cafeteria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
