Not much is known about Jane. Family tradition says she was raised by a neighbor of Emily's "Mrs. Woods. Jane was abt 3 yrs old when her mother died. Jane was known to be in Nebraska with the brothers, Her death was after 1896 but it not for certain if she was in Nebraska or if she had returned to Iowa with George and Ann Gibbens. It was not long after they returned that George Walter Gibbens reported to his brothers that Jane had died and the date is thought to be 1902.
