Debbie Pearl Fletcher, age 80, of Elizabethton went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 2, 2016 at her residence, following a brief illness. Pearl was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of the late Hamilton and Bessie Dugger Winters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Winters.

Pearl was a former employee of Dr. John R. Crockett, III and was a homemaker. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star-Sycamore Chapter #163, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Pearl collected bells and enjoyed working in flowers, spending time with her family and friends, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 55 years, Ralph A. Fletcher, of the home; two daughters, Anita Whitehead and husband Vince, of Johnson City and Donna G. Ward and husband Tim, of Watauga; a son, Michael Fletcher and wife Marcia, of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Captain Brandon Whitehead, U.S. Air Force, stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada, Shaleia Whitehead, Jefferson City, TN, Carson Whitehead, Knoxville, TN, Stephanie Fletcher, Johnson City, TN Joy Fletcher, Elizabethton, TN and Connor Ward, Watauga, TN; three sisters, Charlotte Nave, Norma Smith and Judy Winters, all of Elizabethton, TN; two brothers, Robert Winters, of Elizabethton, TN and L.R. Winters, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Pearl Fletcher will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Sherrel Nave and Rev. Kenneth Kyker, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday; or at her residence at any time.

An Order of the Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, prior to the graveside service. Procession will follow.

The graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Chatman, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Vince Whitehead, Tim Ward, Carson Whitehead, Steven Waycaster, Raymond Birchfield, Junior Collazo and Carroll Mick. Honorary pallbearers will be Captain Brandon Whitehead and Gerald Buckles.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Mountain States Hospice, the staff of Johnson City Medical Center, her friends and neighbors, Calvary Church in Boones Creek and Big Springs Baptist Church for the love shown to Pearl and her family.
