Sandra A. (Vecchiarino) Fletcher, 61, of Kent, passed away on September 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born January 16, 1953 in Danbury, Conn., the daughter of the late Modestino C. Vecchiarino and Beverly Vecchiarino.
Sandie was a graduate of Shepaug Valley High School. After residing in Danbury, Washington and New Milford, she moved to Kent in 1987 where she resided for the past 27 years. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014 after 30 years of service in the New Milford and Ridgefield post offices. Prior to her employment with the post office she worked at Kimberly Clark and Laidlaw Bus Company. Sandie enjoyed antiquing, tag sales, auctions and trips to the casino.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Wendell J. Fletcher; two daughters, Kathleen (Kaylor) Lamb and her husband Robert of Kent; Kelly Kaylor of Kent; four cherished grandchildren, Rhys Snyder, Shayla Lamb, Brogan Lamb and Raina Friend; brother, Thomas Vecchiarino and his wife Debbie of Danbury; niece Dana Scherer and nephew Gregory Vecchiarino.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 pm Thursday, September 11, 2014 at First Congregational Church of Kent. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to New Milford VNA/Hospice or New Milford Animal Welfare.
