She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cummings and her son Jack Cummings.
She is survived by her son, James Cummings, daughter Susan Cummings-Findel (Stefan), daughter-in-law Joy Cummings, grandson Brent Cummings, grandson Trevor Cummings (Katherine), grand daughter Rebecca Cummings (Kaisle), granddaughter Anne Atkins (Jerome), granddaughter Erin Cummings (Rachel), and great-grandchildren Stella, Cohen, and Camden.
Katherine was blessed to have kindness bestowed upon her early in life that led her to live a life in service to others.
Katherine enjoyed her work as an office manager and book keeper in the transportation business. Katherine and her husband Harold enjoyed many summers with extended family on Hamlin Lake in Ludington.
Upon retirement in 1991, she traveled and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She loved to garden and enjoyed growing the many blooming orchids on display in her sunroom. Katherine was an active member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending the monthly meetings of her Mary Ruth Circle.
She was known for always offering to remember those in need of support through prayer. Katherine will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
The funeral service was held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Mount Hope United Methodist Church, Lansing, MI. Interment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Hope United Methodist Church or Heifer International.
