Daniel Patrick Daly, age 20, of Marlton, NJ unexpectedly passed away the morning of Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Cherry Hill Township, NJ.

Daniel was born in Voorhees, NJ and lived his life in Marlton. He was a student of St. Joan of Arc Elementary School, Demasi Middle School, Cherokee High School and a 2014 graduate of Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill. Daniel was completing his Associates Degree from Rowan College at Burlington County and was set to attend Rowan Main Campus next year.

Growing up, Daniel was an extremely active kid. He participated in Marlton recreational sports: soccer, as player and later a referee, baseball and karate. Although he enjoyed all of them, the sport that stood out from among the rest, was wrestling. Starting at age 11, Daniel spent 7 years wrestling for the JV and Varsity teams of Demasi Middle School, Cherokee and Camden Catholic High Schools.

Apart from sports, Daniel’s one true passion in life was participating in Boy Scouts of America. Daniel began scouting at age 5, as a Tiger Cub Scout, in Pack 49. He was a dedicated outdoor enthusiast, never missing a camping trip or community service project. Daniel was the recipient of the Boy Scouts of America National Camping Award for his skills and his commitment to teaching his love for the outdoors to younger scouts. In 2014, Daniel was honored to receive the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting, as part of Troop 100. He is part of only 3% of all scouts that complete all 13 years of this program: from Tiger Scout to Eagle Scout.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Kevin and Patricia Daly; his sister, Vicki Daly, brother-in-law, Leigh Steinberg; and his grandmother, Eleanor Frederick. Along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins of the Daly, Wojton, Gravenstine, Rieger, Hensel, Frey and Frederick families.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 7th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, immediately followed by a memorial service; both will be at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will take place following the service at Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery, in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Because of Daniel’s dedication to scouting and community service, in lieu of flowers, please send donations made out to the “Daniel Patrick Daly Memorial Fund” to PO. Box 96, Marlton, NJ 08053. This memorial fund will ensure that Daniel’s spirit, morals and passions for the outdoors and service for the community continue.
