Mrs. Thelma Spell

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. from Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington for Mrs. Thelma Viola Ables Spell, 63, of Lexington. Mrs. Spell died February 27 at Holmes County Hospital. Rev. William Rowells was the officiating minister with Rev. C.A. Dickerson, Rev. John Sproles and Rev. Jody Nichols assisting. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery, Lexington.

Mrs. Spell was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She had worked as a seamstress at Henson-Kickernick in Lexington for over 22 years.

She is survived by: her husband, William Ward Spell of Lexington: two sons, Melvin G. Spell and William L. Spell, both of Lexington: one daughter, Deborah Drennan of Lexington: three brothers, Buster Ables of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Phil Ables of Canton and Vardaman Ables of Lexington; one sister, Mrs. J. U. Spell of Lexington and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tommy Gantt, Travis Leach, John Raiford Ellison, Vincent Ables, Harvey Caldwell, Gil Malone, and Kenneth Dale Ables.
