Judith W. Hess O’Morrow Carpenter of Columbus died May 1, 2016 at age 91. She was born September 20, 1924 in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of the late Evelyn Irene Poole Hess and Charles Earl (C.E.) Hess. She was a graduate of Whetstone High School and The Ohio State University with a degree in Home Furnishings. She later attended Ohio State’s teacher certification program and joined the Reynoldsburg School District, serving as an elementary teacher at Graham Road Elementary for more than 20 years. She was a longtime member of Eastview United Methodist Church. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Friendship Village of Columbus in the Assisted Living facility, having served on several residents committees before her health began to fail. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Taylor of Heath, Ohio, and brother David Hess as well as her husband, Wilbur Carpenter. Viewing will be Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. at the EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio, with interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad Street.
