Son of Philip Henry and Margaret Jane Stoddard, he married Matilda Elizabeth Staufenberg about 1905. They are the parents of two daughters ~ Gertrude Elizabeth Boice and Viola Beatrice Boice Pfisterer.

Philip H..Boice. Jr. forty years old died of pneumonia following an illness of only two or three days at Brooklyn Hospial. He was a resident of Brooklyn and head plumber of Brooklyn City Hospital. Besides his parents Mr and Mrs. Philip H. Boice he is survived by a wife and daughter, Miss Viola Boice and two brothers Edward and Walter Boice of this place, and on sister Mrs. Joseph Dougherty of Brooklyn.
