Louis was born on May 6, 1930 in Manito, Illinois to Len and Wilma (Waddell) Golden. He married Evelyn Diegel on April 29, 1949 in Arkansas. She preceded him in death in 2012.
Louis is survived by five children, Jerry L. Golden, Louis Golden, Jr., Steven L. Golden, Crystal Golden-Zayed and Scott (Phyllis) Golden; 12 grandchildren: three great-grandchildren and his sister, Grace Taylor.
Louis was also preceded in death by his father, Len Golden; his mother, Wilma Golden MoldenHauer and stepfather, Herman Moldenhauer.
Louis was a retired manager at Caterpillar, Decatur, Illinois. He was a volunteer firefighter in Oreana as well as Jaycees and numerous other volunteer activities. He was a long standing member of the Oreana Christian Church. He was also a member of the Argenta Masonic Lodge #871 A.F. & A.M. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, flying model airplanes, woodworking and bowling.
