Charles and Bessie divorce sometime between 1900-1909, when Chales remarries. They had no children.

1920 U. S. Census for Indianapolis, Marion County:
Charles H. Alford, 50; Wife, Mary, 33; and Niece, Pearl Ritchie, 22.

1930 U. S. Census for Perry Township, Marion County:
Charles H. Alford, 60; Wife, Mary E., 44; Son, Charles H. Alford, 6.

1940 U. S. Census for Franklin, Johnson County:
Divorced, Charles H. Alford, 70, living at the Indiana Masonic Home.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 15383 for Franklin, Johnson County records Charles H. Alford, a 71 year, 7 months, and 4-days-old widowed [sic-divorced] white male, druggist, died about 5 p.m. on 12 May 1941, due to "Arterio-sclerosis", and "Gangrene of Left Foot." He was the son of Monroe Alford, and Clara Troy, both born in Indiana. Indiana Masonic Home was the informant. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Johnson County on 15 May 1941, Flinn Funeral Home of Franklin, Directors.
