Cindy Doris Bolton
Born: September 22, 1956
Died: May 01, 2016

Cindy Doris Bolton passed away peacefully May 1. 2016 She was born in Fort Worth to Wilkie and Doris Bolton and later became big sister to brother Dan. She attended Keller schools, graduating from Keller High in 1975. She then studied nursing at Texas Woman’s University. Cindy dedicated her career to public service, and after working for the City of Fort Worth, spent her career with Texas Department of State Health Services. She started as a clinic nurse providing immunizations and later served as manager of the cancer registry program and birth defects registry.

Upon retiring, Cindy focused on CCs One of a Kind, selling her handmade sewn goods online and at markets around Texas. She was a regular vendor at the Grapevine Market, where she developed many special friendships. Her master skills as a seamstress were only topped by her exceptional culinary talents, which she learned from her mother. Her specialty was southern and Texas cuisine, all of which she shared generously with friends and family. Her pecan pie was legendary as evidenced by the prize-winning ribbons she amassed at the State Fair of Texas.

Cindy was a proud Texan and enjoyed exploring parks across the state. Her mother and stepfather Robert introduced her to her favorite place in Texas, Big Bend National Park. Stillwell Ranch and the towns of Alpine and Marathon were special places and frequent travel destinations.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father Wilkie, brother Dan, mother and best friend Doris, stepfather Robert Downard and brother Dana Downard.

She is survived by her niece Alicia Downard, cousin Sally Kading, dear friends Mary Sexton, Hyrum Kanady and Steve Mabry, Elena and Carlos Gomez, and beloved cat family.
