Horace C. Wright
Dryden - Horace C. Wright, 41, of 24 Lee Street, Dryden, was found dead at his home Wednesday, March 12, 1969, when police investigated at the request of his employer because Mr. Wright had failed to report for work. He was grocery manager at Egan's IGA Store in Ithaca. An autopsy is being performed to determine cause of death.
Born May 28, 1927 in Oneonta, he was the son of Herman and Estella Church Wright. He attended schools in Worcester and was graduated from Syracuse University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wright was a member and elder of Dryden Presbyterian Church where he had served as clerk of the Session. He was formerly a member and elder at Worcester Presbyterian Church where he also sang in the choir. He had been a Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Russell Wright; two sons, Mark and Bruce Wright, both at home, two brothers, Lt Col. Charles Wright at Maguire Air Force Base, N.J., and Robert Wright of Worcester; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Perkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Read of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Worcester a the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
