Edith R. Sanders, 85, of Trion, GA, formerly of Clark co., IL passed away 3:15 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home.

She was born Nov. 14, 1931 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Fred and Helen Wells Washburn. She was married to Joseph D. Sanders who preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2006.

Surviving are five sons; Robert (Nancy) Sanders of Casey, IL, Larry (Doris) Sanders of Casey, IL, Fred (Paula) Sanders of Hutsonville, IL, Ted (Barbie) Sanders of Westfield, IL and Timothy (Sandy) Sanders of Trion, GA; two sisters, Mary James of Utah and Betty Shotts of Marshall; 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Sue Sanders; three brothers and one sister.

Edith was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church of Trion.

Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery at Casey. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
