Janny and Don shared a love of golf and traveling, and many times combined both interests, both as a couple alone and with dear friends. They also loved family events, and particularly enjoyed the Maui vacation they were able to take with their adult children and their families. Janny and Don were avid Husky fans and attended every home game until her health failed. She loved bridge and gardening. Janny and Don were members of Tacoma Country & Golf Club for more than 50 years.
Janny’s “golden years” were dimmed when she was stricken in 1990 with a disease that permanently deprived her of her sense of balance. In spite of this hardship, she persevered with her positive outlook and sense of humor (mostly) intact. In particular, her relationship with Don remained loving and strong until his death in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her older brother Allan.
A private family service was held on Thursday, November 21, followed by a reception at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakewood Fire Dept.—Life, Charity & Safety Fund, 10928 Pacific Highway SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
