Salem - Dona Maxine Chapman, 78 died Wednesday, April 27th at Salem Hospital. Dona was born on June 28, 1937 in Pasadena, California to parents Donald and Olive Knowles Adams Chapman. She spent her working career as a Teacher of the Deaf and as a Media Specialist. Ever the adventurous spirit, in her leisure time, she enjoyed hot air ballooning and logged 25 flights after her retirement.
Dona is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her sister; 1 niece; 3 nephews; 2 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dona's name to a charity of your choice . Assisting the family is Virgil T.
