Marie Rachel (Davison) Hyder, daughter of Fred L. and Lula B. (Cunningham) Davison was born Oct. 13, 1916 in Elkland and departed this life on Oct. 7, 2006 at Webco Manor in Marshfield. At the time of her passing, she was 89 years, 11 months and 24 days of age.
Marie was a longtime resident of Elkland, where she and her husband, Frank, helped her dad, Fred Davison, and her uncle, Willis Davison, farm.
Marie taught school for 35 years in Elkland, Fair Grove and Marshfield. She was a lifetime member of the Elkland Christian Church; and was a member of Eastern Star, White Shrine and True Kindred. She always gave a helping hand to the Elkland Christian Church, Eastern Star, White Shrine, True Kindred, AARP and Counsel of Aging.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Frank Hyder.
Survivors include her two children, Clayton Hyder and wife, Lora Lee, Elkland, and her daughter, Jean Ann Hyder of Arizona; four grandchildren, Brenda Nash and husband, Mark, Wichita, Kan., Steven Hyder, Chicago, Ill., Chris Tuckness, Fairbank, Ark., Jessica Hyder, Chino Valley, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Brian Nash and Sarah Hash; two sisters, Evelyn Lowe and husband, Luther, Wichita, Kan., Paula Ruth Sites and husband, Milton of Wichita, Kan.; and one brother, Lenard Davison, Calif.
Marie was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.
Services for Marie will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 in Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Eric Chism officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fair Grove.
