Jane Stanley, who was born in DE, married Benjamin Benn in that place in 1803. The Benns lived for some years in the state of NY, making a final move to Green Township, Hamilton Co., OH in 1810, according to their son, Benjamin, Jr.'s memorial tribute to his father.

Jane and Benjamin Benn parented eight children, all but one of whom grew to maturity. The Benns were large contributors and active members of the Dent Methodist Episcopal Church, later renamed Ebenezer Methodist Church. (Oak Hills United Methodist Church built in the same area, now cares for the remaining headstones from the original Ebenezer Cemetery.)

Jane Benn died at the age of 68 year and 3 months. Her tombstone includes the following words: "Tis sweet to think of the absent we love."
