Gerald W. Norton, 73, of Marshall, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Gerald was born October 20, 1942 in Madison, NC to the late Theodore Dan Norton and Crystal Pearl Sams Norton. Gerald was a farmer and welder. He was employed by Engineer Association (E.A.). He attended Vision Missionary Baptist Church in Mars Hill, NC.
In addition to his parents Gerald was preceded in death by sisters; Carolyn Robinson, Elwanda Norton, brothers; JD and Joe Norton, children; John Danny Norton, Charles Boyd Norton; grandson, Micah Coffey; brother in law, Jarvis Hensley.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Bradley Norton; sons, David Norton (Mary Lynn), Alvin Norton, and James Norton; daughters, Geraldine Rector (Steve), Jeanure Anne Norton, Gail Baines (Brian), Veronica Coffey (Travis); grandchildren, Stephen Rector (Heather), D.J Norton, Benjamin Rector (Gail), Keturah Rector, Sarah Rector, Clay Coffey, Addison Baines, Trenton Baines, and Connor Coffey; brother, C.L Norton (Patsy); sister, Audrey Norton; sister in law, Delia Norton; brother in law, Brandon Robinson; along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2:00pm at Vision Missionary Baptist church. Burial will follow in the Vision Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
