Word has been received of the death of Virley R. Rudd, a native of Hendricks County. Mr. Rudd died Friday at his home in Canton, Miss. He had been in failing health for the past ten years and was 73 years of age. While living in this community Mr. Rudd was at one time associated with his father, A. Rudd, in the lumber business and was also deputy treasurer while Oscar Hadley was treasurer. Mr. Rudd just received his 30-year pin from the Masonic lodge.
Funeral services and burial were in Canton, Miss. Survivors are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Troke, of Indianapolis, and one son, Kenneth Rudd, of Chicago, Ill.
