Obituary

Randy G. Moody, 59 of Blountville passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Randy was born to the late Clifton Moody and the late Blanche Defriece Moody on September 17, 1956 in Sullivan County, TN. Randy dedicated his life to working and providing for his family. He spent over 40 plus years working beside his loving brother, Ed Moody at Moody Sprinkler Company. He was a very caring and giving man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton Moody and Blanche Defriece Moody, twin brother, Randall Moody, brother, Roy Moody, and sister, Patsy Russell.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Phyllis Rhoton Moody; his three daughters, Monica Esiline and husband, Aaron, Kristy Riddle and husband, Henry, and Amber Hickman and husband, Rusty; four precious granddaughters, Ajah and Jadyn Hickman, Taylor Esiline and Isabella Elliott; two brothers, Ed Moody and wife, Louise, and Timmy Moody and wife Marie, four sisters, Wanda Freet, Faye Trent and husband, Ed, Leta Dingus and husband Dannie, and Cookie Browder and husband, Wayne; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at Celebration Church, 429 Shipley Ferry Rd., Blountville. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow with Pastor, Robert Russell and Pastor, Andy Wood officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 2:30 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers – Bill Cordell, Dave Davis, Wayne Hammonds, Charlie Hicks, Bob Lane, C.D. Murdock and Melvin Shaffer. Honorary Pallbearers – Moody Sprinkler Company Employees, James Ketron, Hal Miller, Jim Long and Jim Tatum.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff at Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and comfort. Also, Dr. Jordan Berlin and Michael Fowler, Vanderbilt and Dr. Asheesh Shipstone and Nurses, Kingsport Oncology for giving him the best quality of life over the past 10 years.
