US Soldier killed at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Pvt Milton enlisted into the US Army on August 15, 1866, in Detroit, MI. He was described as 5'7", blue eyes, light hair, with a light complexion. His civilian occupation was farmer. On September 10, 1866, he was assigned to Company F, 7th US Cavalry Regiment at Ft Riley, KS. When his enlistment expired on August 15, 1871, Milton reenlisted back into Company F. At the Battle of of the Little Bighorn, Company F was assigned to LTC George A Custer's battalion. During the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Milton was killed. After the battle, most of Company F was found in the areas of the South Skirmish Line and Deep Ravine. Milton's body was never identified. It is likely Milton's unidentified remains were buried where they had been found. In 1881, all known battlefield burials were moved to mass grave on top of Last Stand Hill.
