US Soldier killed at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Pvt Meadon enlisted into the US Army on January 19, 1872, in Lexington, KY. He was described as 5'5", brown eyes, brown hair with a ruddy complexion. His civilian occupation was farmer. On February 12, 1872, Meador was assigned to Company H, 7th US Cavalry Regiment at Nashville, TN. Company H was commanded by Captain Frederick Benteen. During the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Company H fought on Reno Hill. Meador was killed, during the fighting on the Hill. After the battle, most of the soldiers, who had died during the fighting, were buried where they fallen. In 1881, all known battlefield burials were moved to a mass grave on Last Stand Hill.
