Some bright souls shine so brilliantly that they brand themselves permanently into our hearts and minds. Lindsey Evans Carter was that kind of spark. Born to Shelly and Nick Carter in Dallas, TX, August 29, 1988, she was the youngest of three: a lively blonde bee to her two older brothers, Ryan and Brad, and she would forever swarm them, wanting to be buzzing nearby and loving them dearly always. Parents to a child such as this were naturally doting on their daughter, and she loved them in return with deep gratitude. Her golden personality was beloved by everyone who knew her. She had her mother's blonde wildly-curly hair: perfect for someone so vivacious. Lindsey's laugh ignited smiles and tears of laughter in its wake: her sense of humor and quick wit was very catching. She was, simply put, the most fun to be around. Lindsey attended school at St. Louis Catholic School, followed by St. Agnes Academy, and afterward studied graphic design at UT Chattanooga and the University of Memphis. Ever the artist, her attraction to creativity often kept her in midtown. Lindsey's genuine interest in others wove a web of friends fiercely loyal to her, with her most treasured being her dog Chevy, who has greeted her at the gates of Heaven now with tail wagging. Lindsey was lifted to our Lord on May 1, 2016.

Like most sparkling artistic spirits of our time, Lindsey was taken away too soon. However, this beautiful young woman will not be forgotten. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Owen and Burma Carter, and William J. Smith, as well as her uncle, David E. Smith. She is survived by her parents, Nick and Shelly Carter of Germantown, TN, as well as her brothers Ryan Carter and Bradley Carter of Memphis, TN, and her grandmother June E. Smith of Germantown, TN. Other surviving relatives include her aunt Debbie (Michael) Long of Vista, CA, aunt Alison (Lane) Williams of Lawrenceville, NJ, uncle Tracy (Stephanie) Smith of Birmingham, AL, and aunt Terri Carter of Jackson, MI. cousins Christopher & Stacey Long; Marissa (Potts), Hayley & Carter Williams and Courtney, Caroline and Catherine Smith

Visitation is Saturday, May 7th from noon to 2 PM at St. Louis Church at 203 S. White Station Road in Memphis, TN with Mass following at 2 PM. There will be a reception from 3-5 at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Avenue.
