Sandra J. Saunders 68 of Adrian, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, April 30, 2016. Sandra was born in Emanuel County on September 27, 1947 to the late James Willard and Beatrice Claxton Sweat. She was a graduate of Emanuel County High School and Georgia College at Milledgeville where she earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Sandra had lived most of her life living in Emanuel County. She had lived in Johnson County for 17 years. In 1992, Sandra was employed at Johnson State Prison as a Business Manager. She and the Warden were the first employees to be hired before the prison even opened. She loved to read and sew. Sandra was Baptist by faith.
Visitation will be held at Brantley Funeral Home Tuesday night, May 3, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Brantley Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Kite City Cemetery. Rev. Louis Pearce will be officiating minister.
