Jason Scott Greene, 39, of Canton, Ga., passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, March 5, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Jason was born in Haverhill on March 31, 1970 and grew up in Atkinson, N.H. He attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from the Florida Culinary Institute in W. Palm Beach, Fla. Jason went on to become an accomplished chef in St. Augustine, Fla., and Savannah, Ga., with the Kessler Collection of Hotels. Jason married Angela Lavigne in 2002 on Captiva Island, Fla. He was very active in the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, but is best known for being a loving and adored husband, father and son. Jason was a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan who attended many play-off games of the 2004 and 2007 championship seasons and the final game of the 2007 World Series in Denver. He is survived by his wife, Angela Greene; his daughter, Alexandra Elizabeth Greene; his mother and step-father, Thomas and Janis (Hicks) Gorski of Hampstead, N.H. and Naples, Fla.; his father, William Greene of Newburyport; sisters, Andra Gorski of Hampstead, N.H., Lisa Blanchard of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a brother, Matthew Gorski of Temple, N.H.; a special uncle and friend, Stanley Hicks of Kingston, N.H.; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial will be held in Naples, Fla. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up to benefit Jason's daughter Alexandra Greene. Memorial contributions can be made at any SunTrust Bank (account number: 1000107957267) or by mailing donations to Alexandra E.
