LeRoy F. Allen, Jr., 71 of Grand Island died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his home.

Mass of Christians Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church at Doniphan.

Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery with military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corp.

Mr. Allen was born March 18, 1945 at Portland, OR the son of LeRoy, Sr. and Frances (Urioste) Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Sherilyn; their children, Albert (Kris) Allen of Ainsworth, Brian (Michelle) Breazier of Omaha, Dan (Catrina) Allen of Fremont, Barbara (Juan Carlos) Izaguirre of Los Angeles, CA, Brigett Allen of Houston, TX, Denise (Paul) Housmann of Spenser, NE, Christina (Levi) Bennett of Lincoln, Angela Allen of Elba, Cynthia (John) Trejo of Grand Island, Michelle Breazier of Grand Island and Anthony Breazier of Dannebrog; 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one of each generation on the way; sisters, Patricia Korte of Dannebrog and Barbara Santiago of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Barb (Stuart) Endorf of Grand Island and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Mary Naprstek; his parents; an infant child, Anthony Allen; 4 infant grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Albert Korte and Rudolf Santiago and niece, Elizabeth Beth Anne Endorf.

LeRoy was raised in Cheyenne till the age of 15 then moving to Elba.

He was proud to be a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran having served from 1965-67 during the Vietnam War.

On April 5, 1979 he was united in marriage to Sherilyn Lute.

They lived in various communities in Nebraska.

Following the military LeRoy farmed with his grandparents north of Elba; served as a Police Officer in Neligh; worked for Woodburn Ambulance; City County Ambulance in Grand Island and later the VA Hospital in Grand Island in various positions.

He was proud to receive an honor from the DAR for his service in Vietnam.

He was a member of the DAV; he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, adult coloring books and cross word puzzles.

He loved time spent with his grandkids.

He had a great love and faith for his Lord, Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
