At any early hour this morning came word of the passing of Mrs. Frederick Weyerhaeuser in the family home at St. Paul, the news occasioning sincere sorrow among the host of people who knew her and loved her during her residence in this city. For weeks, her condition had been critical and since Sunday she had hovered on the threshold of death. Then it was announced by her physicians that death would come in a few days. Services over the remains were pronounced today in St. Paul and the body, accompanied by member of the family, will be brought to this city for burial. Arrangements for private funeral services to be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Davis, have been completed. Dr. W. S. Marquis, pastor of Broadway Presbyterian church, will conduct the service. It is the wish of the family that flowers be omitted. Burial will be in Chippiannock cemetery.

In the year 1839, Miss Sarah Elizabeth Bladel was born in Niedersaulheim, a village of the Rhine valley, situated near the city of Mainz. She observed her 72nd birthday anniversary April 20 last. When a year old, the Bladel family removed to this country from Germany and settled in Erie, Pa. Early in the year of 1857, she came to Rock Island from her home, to visit her sister, Mrs. F. C. A. Denkmann. She was from Mr. Weyerhaeuser's native village and the bond of interest created deepened in intensity and ripened into love. Six months later, the marriage was solemnized. Oct. 11, 1907, 50 years after their marriage, the golden wedding was celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Weyerhaeuser, at the old home in Rock Island. The children of the couple aided in making the event the joyous occasion that it was.

For years, the Weyerhaeusers have lived in St. Paul, that city being closer to the field of Mr. Weyerhaeuser's operations. To his wife, the friends of the family who have known the Weyerhaeusers longest and best, ascribe a splendid share in the credit of the success which has crowned her husband's modest business beginnings in Rock Island more than half a century ago. Her love, her thoughtfulness and righteousness, meant much to him during their life together. June 29, Mr. and Mrs. Weyerhaeuser made their last trip to Rock Island together, to attend the wedding of John Hauberg and Miss Sue Denkmann. Mrs. Weyerhaeuser was then in fairly good health. Her decline began early in the fall.

Besides her husband, she leaves seven children, John P., St. Paul; Charles A., Little Falls, Minn.; Rudolph M., Cloquet, Minn.; Fred E., St. Paul; Mrs. William Bancroft Hill, Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; Mrs. J. I Jewett, Cambridge, Mass., and Mrs. S. S. Davis, Rock Island. She also leaves three brothers, John, Phillip and Andrew Bladel, Rock Island.
