Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday May 24, 2012 at 1 p.m., at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints Liberty Ward Chapel located on French Ave. in Gridley.

Hazel Pitt Little passed away May 20th, 2012, at the age of 99. She was the second of 4 children born to James Melvin and Mary Leota Eskelson Pitt. Born August 22, 1912 in Lake Fork, Utah. Her mother died of the flu epidemic of 1918. Her father remarried Estella Daley who had a small son. Together, they had 11 more children making a total of 16 children. Hazel being the oldest daughter became the second mother of the family as Stella was young and overwhelmed. The family moved to Gridley when Hazel was 16. She married Walter Golden Little in 1934 where they resided and farmed on Block Road, working together, and raising their family.

Hazel was active in the community serving in the PTA and Pink Ladies Auxiliary, and serving numerous leadership positions in her church. Her husband passed away in 1989, and Hazel devoted the rest of time and life to her grandchildren, loving and nurturing them. She has remained in Gridley since.

She is survived by her children. Infant daughter Karen died in 1942. She leaves a large family of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great- great grandchildren.

Interment will be at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
