James Murray was born in 1918 and served his country during World War II. When he came home from the South Pacific, he married Ruth, his wife of 59 years.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, William, who died in Normandy on D- Day.
James was retired from Goodyear, where he worked for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was state pistol champion in his class. James loved books, music, and his family. He sang in the Presbyterian Church choir for over 35 years, was an early member of the Akron Civic Cho rus, and was a Mason. He read and studied a wide range of subjects, and when his children were in college and could not find a textbook, it was usually because he was reading it. He will be missed by all who knew him, whenever we walk in the woods, or near a beach, or hear any music from the era of the big bands. Greatly loved, he will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church, Hudson Dr., Cuyahoga Falls, Friday, Dr. Richard A. Hasler officiating. A Masonic service will be conducted Thursday at the funeral home. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
