She was born June 16, 1918 in Landes, WV and was the daughter of the late Jacob Alt and Mary Ellen (VanMeter) Alt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Eston Alt and one sister, Tressie A. Turner and one nephew, James C. Turner.
Stella was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren.
Stella is survived by one niece, Jean Henshaw of Winchester, VA, 2 nephews, Paul W. Turner and Dewey P. Turner of Winchester, VA; 10 great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Roturck officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Alt Family Cemetery, Brushy Run, WV.
Memorials may be made to the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, 127 Early Avenue, Petersburg, WV 26847.
