Katherine (Kathy) Shepherd, of Roanoke, Va. went to the place Jesus had prepared for her on March 26, 2010. She is survived by her son, Paul H. Shepherd Jr.; a daughter, Tina L. Shepherd, both of Roanoke, Va.; two grandchildren, Kayla D. Shepherd, Roanoke, Va. and Christopher D. Margerum, US Army, Iraq; stepmother, Mary Stamper, Wytheville, Va.; one sister, Shirley Bearden, Seneca, S.C.; three nieces, Sharon (David) Koelsch, Pamela (Jerry) Caddy, and Karen (Danny) Hendrix, all of Seneca, S.C. Also, surviving are five grandnieces. Many, many thanks to our wonderful Grandin Court Baptist Church family, Carter's Cabinet Shop, where Kathy was employed for 21 years, and Straight Street. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Grandin Court Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Kevin Meadows, with interment at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following. In lieu of flowers it is requested donations be made to Grandin Court Baptist Church, #8491 Community Mission., Grandin Court Baptist Church, 2660 Brambleton. Ave. SW., Roanoke, VA 24015. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
