Mrs. Ella Norris Hale, 89, died Thursday in Edgecombe County, NC.
Mrs. Hale, born in Edgecombe County, was the daughter of the late William Joe Norris and Mary Gold Norris and the widow of Collin Spencer "Pete" Hale. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl Dennis Norris, James Norris, William Irvin Norris, and Julian Clark "J.C." Norris; and sisters, Irene Turner, Ruby Harrell, Mary Elizabeth O'Neal and Nola Bonsignore.
She worked for Carolina Telephone Company for many faithful years until her retirement in 1983. She was also an active member of Trinity Baptist Church inTarboro, NC. She is survived by her son, Spencer Ray Hale and wife Allette of Wendell, NC and her grandsons, Timothy Ray Hale and Dustin Collin Hale both of Wendell, NC.
The family received friends 7-9 PM, Friday, April 29, 2016 at the funeral home.
The funeral services were held at 11, AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Carlisle Funeral Home Chapel in Tarboro with the rev. Glen Brock officiating.
Burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, NC.
