Daniel was born December 5, 1921 in Lexington, MO, to Vergle Clinton and Naomi Mattie Best Lankford. He married Clara Marie Finkemeier July 18, 1948 in Wellington, MO. He had retired from Central States Transport where he was the Chief Diesel Mechanic. Daniel was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran serving in the Bismarck Archipelago and the Southern Philippines. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, the Lexington Masonic Lodge, the Shriner's, Elks Lodge, and V.F.W. Post 4052.
Daniel is survived by a sister, Ula Virginia Finch, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara on June 15, 2009, his parents, brothers, Earl and Harold, and a sister, Louise Timbrook.
