Ms. Wanda Sheppard Neal, 83, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 23, 2016. She was born May 20, 1932 in Cumberland County to the late Will Sheppard and Carrie Ingram. Ms. Neal was a faithful member of Friendly Chapel Church. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. Ms. Neal retired from Food Fair with 35 years of service. She enjoyed singing at nursing homes and spending time with her family. Ms. Neal was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Ms. Neal was preceded in death by two sisters, Vicky Neil and Mary Townsend and two brothers, Royce and Bill Ingram. She is survived by her son, Ricky Keener and friend, Rhonda Collins; daughter, Deborah Briggs and husband, Danny; four grandchildren: Mandy Petrillo, Laura Keener, Lauren Briggs Henderson, and Ali Briggs; four great-grandchildren: Lilly Petrillo, Louie Petrillo, Piper Keener, and Linley Grace Henderson. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25 at Friendly Chapel Church with Bro. Don Collins officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 25 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church, 228 Friendly Chapel Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
