Bonnie M. Peters, 73, of Burnham, died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at her home.Born Dec. 14, 1942, in Ewardtown, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Anna (Kvist) Sheetz.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Leeper and three brothers, Bill, Joseph and John Sheetz.Bonnie is survived by: her husband, Walter Peters Jr., whom she married Dec. 7, 1964; children, Tina Scheetz, of York, Tammy Buckshaw and husband, Donald, of Ellicott City, Md., Carol Kauffman and husband, Edward, of McVeytown, and Samuel Peters and his companion Donna Sheetz, of Milroy; grandchildren, Alexander Scheetz, Elizabeth Buckshaw, Victoria Buckshaw, Donald Buckshaw Jr., Jennafer Buckshaw, Samuel Kauffman, Rebekah Kauffman, Megan Herbster and Alexandra Sheetz; and a brother, Richard Sheetz and wife, Joan, of Milroy.Bonnie graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1960 and completed medical assistant training.She was employed as an operating room technician at Lewistown Hospital for 22 years.She was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham.Bonnie loved her family and cherished her grandkids. She loved traveling with Walt, going on cruises and was a huge Penn State fan.There will be no service. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Avenue, Burnham. A time of sharing and celebration with a light meal will follow at the Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church, 513 East Freedom Avenue, Burnham.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bonnie's name may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, Pleasant Acres, 305 Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
