Death was caused by paralysis and followed a short illness. Mr. Renfro was here but two weeks ago and although he was in poor health at the time his friends did not consider his condition serious.
George Renfro was born in Rock Island June 23, 1849, and received his education in the schools of this city. Of late years he has been employed as special agent for the Arbuckle company and had made Davenport his headquarters. Before becoming a salesmean he was engaged in business with his brother in Chicago. He has many friends in Rock Island and Davenport who mourn his death.
He is survived by four sisters Mrs. Henry Spalding and Mrs. Davis of this city, Mrs. Laurie Hall of Peoria and Mrs. Nancy Linderman of Davenport, and by three brothers, William of Rock Island, John of Nebraska, and James of Pittsburgh, Pa.
