Irene Waddoups Earl, age 85 of Bountiful, died April 26, 1979 following a long illness. Born September 21, 1893 in West Jordan, Utah to Thomas and Cynthia Call Waddoups. Married Charles E. Earl, October 13, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in September 1962.
She lived in Bountiful most of her life, was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in teaching positions and in the presidency of the Relief Society and Primary organizations as well as on the Stake Boards.
She worked in the scouting program for 30 years, was active in the Ellen Loder Camp of the DUP in which she served as captain as well as on the county board. She served a three-year mission to Hawaii for the LDS Church and taught school in West Weber prior to her marriage.
Mrs. Earl is survived by the following children: Mrs. W. Robert (Jean) Keddington and Kenneth W. Earl of Bountiful; C. Jay of Albuquerque, NM; Mrs. Ellis (LaRae) Johnson, Preston, ID; and T. Garry, Bozeman, MT.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Thara Waddoups, Moore, ID; Ralph O Waddoups, Idaho Falls, ID; Mrs. M.H. (Elva) Mann, Mrs. Kenneth (Cleo) Rogerson, Mrs. Beatrice W. Bitter, and Eunice Waddoups, all of Salt Lake City; 17 grandchildren and 16 great=grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 30 at the Bountiful Third Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Bountiful Memorial Park under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary.
