Linda N. Payne, 77, of Owensboro, KY died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born October 21, 1938 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Emmett & Georgia Baird. She retired in August 2006 as a receptionist for River Valley Behavioral Health. She was an active member of Dawson Baptist Church and enjoyed her involvement with her friends from work. She was preceded in death by a son, Forrest Bryan Payne in 2010; and by brothers, E.C., Ralph, Marcus & Thurman Baird. Survivors include her son, Scot Payne (Linda); two grandchildren, Max Logan Sauer and Sophie Payne; a brother, Sherman Baird (Freida); and a sister, Shirley Franklin (Bob); and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services are 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro with Rev. Craig Bratcher officiating. Private burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 12-2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Dawson Baptist Church Building Fund, 5880 Hwy. 54, Philpot, KY 42366.
