Louis G. Stevens, 75, passed away on March 10, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice.

Louis was born in Waterbury, CT on August 20, 1940. He remained in Connecticut until 2014 when he moved to Port St. Lucie, FL. Prior to retirement, Lou worked at Stanadyne for 37 years and was appointed Treasurer in 1989. He was an avid skier, served in the U.S. Army Reserve and a member of The National Honor Society and St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

Lou was the most loving, respectful, honorable husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He fought the battle with Parkinson’s valiantly to the very end. Through it all, Lou’s greatest concern was his family. Lou’s greatest joy was being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alina Stevens (Mikutajtis); daughter, Krystina Schulze (Jeffery) and grandson Richard (Richy); son, Gregory G. Stevens; brother, Michael Stevens (Judy); sister, Carol Stevens (David); father-in-law and best friend, Ryszard Mikutajtis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lourance Stevens.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 18, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home & Crematory, Port St. Lucie. A memorial mass will be held at St. Lucie Catholic Church, March 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Research and to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5090 Dunn Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.

Special thanks to Denise Stevens for her love, care and dedication to her cousin Lou, as well as our entire family.

Also thank you, with great appreciation to everyone at Treasure Coast Hospice House for their compassion, love and care.
